As I had to admit to a little weariness from this intense work, the second half of this spring session brought relief in the form of another artist to assist in mural painting. It was Karen from Solon Springs, Pastor John's wife. She was an incredible blessing to me. Her high level of artistic skill enabled us to accomplish much. Virginia from Somerset came to cover the prayer watch. Her dedication to the Lord and her diligence in prayer undergirded our ability to really move along that wall. Scott remained for the entire session, playing his guitar, leading us in singing, and keeping us from getting too serious with his gift of humor. What a team! Who could ask for more!
A wonderful suprise took place when I met an Israeli woman from northern Israel who is an artist.
She is also a believer. When she came to visit the mural along with our new friend Sandy, she felt the stirring of God to lend a hand, I should say a paintbrush. Miriam came twice and helped with scenes on the back wall. She is an accomplished artist who God seems to be raising up for His work here. Her help was very welcome. She plans on helping in the fall as well. I truly need the extra help and encouragement as I approach the end. I am thankful.
One goal that I had was to get every inch of the mural wall covered with at least a back ground coat of paint before I left for home. Just about very one around helped. Carl, and Gene were painting, then later Rose Q. volunteered to help paint. Roger painted the very last square footage on the side wall that needed to be covered. So the end of this mighty work is in sight. I would estimate 2 more sessions to completion!
As always Meir was a great blessing to all of us. He is recovering nicely from cancer surgery. He continues to give many tours of CemPark as we fondly dubbed the Alliance International Cemetery.
We all had wonderful encounters with Israeli's as well as people from all over the world who came through the gates to visit.
Please celebrate with all of us as the mural continues to take shape and bless many.
September will be here soon enough and it will be time to return. Thank you to all who
have assisted with love, prayer, labor and offerings. Only together can this love story from the Bible be told. Your Paintbrush on the ground in Jerusalem! LOL!
